New Patients – Danville, CA

Ensuring a
Successful Visit

Welcome to Main Street Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics of Danville! As a new or current patient, we look forward to caring for you and your little one. Building our policies on what we believe patients need, we invite you to review the following information so that you and your child feel better prepared when arriving for your appointment. Not only will this help you to be more informed, but you’ll be more likely to have a positive and seamless experience that ends in great success.

Your First Visit

When entering our dental office, you will find we have TVs, toys, and coloring areas for children to play with while waiting. You’ll be called back to a treatment room where we will have your little one sit in the dentist’s chair while we show them the various dental instruments we’ll use and tell them how they work. One of our dental assistants will then begin to polish their teeth before taking age-appropriate dental X-rays. One of our board-certified dentists will then review the X-rays before completing a thorough examination. We will then provide fluoride and offer any treatment recommendations. You will then have time to ask questions or convey any concerns about your child’s oral health.

Before you and your child leave, they will be presented with balloons, toothbrushes, bags, stickers, and toys.

New Dental Patient Forms

To reduce your wait time when visiting for an appointment, we invite you to download your new patient paperwork and fill out the forms in the comfort of your home. All you’ll need to do is then bring the forms to our dental office so that our team can quickly enter the information into our system, allowing you and your child to see the dentist sooner.

Dental Insurance

The cost of children’s dentistry and orthodontics should not require you to decide between your family’s basic necessities and better oral health for your little one. Instead, you should be able to receive exceptional dental care that is affordable. This is why we are a dental insurance-friendly dental office that believes in keeping costs low without sacrificing quality. In-network with various dental insurance plans, you can count on us to help you save each time you visit our pediatric dental office. Call us today to find out how we can be of assistance.

Understanding How Dental Insurance Works

Unlike medical insurance, which focuses more on reactive treatment, dental insurance is designed to encourage patients to pursue preventive services to reduce the potential for more complex procedures later on. Most companies provide coverage for both preventive and restorative treatment but will not pay for any type of cosmetic care. If your child needs orthodontics, this may be lumped into your existing policy; however, you may need to purchase an additional plan if anyone in your home is considering orthodontic treatment in the future.

What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers

When calling to schedule an appointment, we will take down your insurance information and begin to review your available coverage. Although each plan is different, the benefits typically adhere to a similar format that looks something like the following:

  • 100% preventive care
  • 80% minor restorative care
  • 50% major restorative care

This is why we will strongly encourage you to take advantage of the two dental checkups and cleanings you have each year. Not only will you pay little to nothing out of pocket, but you’ll be less likely to develop problems throughout the year as well.
